Gold Bars
Gold bars are usually much cheaper than gold coins of the same gold weight -- there is less overhead for casting the bars. Bars tend to be more fragile than coins as they are usually pure gold, and they may not be as liquid if the buyer wants the gold verified. Hallmarking of bars can increase liquidity and selling price.
